Street children in India

Chandni is 16 years old and has been living on the streets since she was born.
Her father died a few years ago and she lives with her mother and four siblings in a tent in Noida, on the outskirts of the Indian capital Delhi.

Her mother sells sweetcorn in the market but doesn't earn enough money to support her family.

Watch Chandni and listen to her story:  she eventually went to school and learnt to read and write. She then became a reporter for the Children's voice, a newspaper written by and for the children living in the slum (bidonville).
She now feels great because she can help the other street children!
