• Halloween

     

     

     

    is an old Celtic festival.

    In old English hallow = spirit and een = evening.
    It happens in Autumn, on October 31st and celebrates the end of summer.
    It’s also harvest time.

    That’s why apples, nuts and pumpkins are important.
    People decorate their homes, dress up in scary costumes and go to spooky parties. Children wear costumes of monsters, vampires, witches or ghosts to frighten people saying:


    ’trick or treat’ 
    ( If you don’t give me something good, like sweets, I’ll play bad jokes on you !)
